Job Description
Job Overview:
The Scrum Master is
the manager of his scrum. He ensures that the SCRUM process and ceremonies are enforced
and effective. He coordinates all the necessary activities for the success of
the scrum from the business analysis readiness and roadmap management to development
and quality control. The responsibility of delivery of working software
ultimately lies with the SCRUM Master who is also mandated to respond to team
capacity and timeline questions.
Qualifications & Prerequisites:
· Deep and
thorough understanding of the software development best practices and
challenges
· Thorough
experience in leading technical teams and overseeing the work and productivity
of junior and senior software engineers
· Knowledgeable
in KPI definition and tracking
· Comfortable and
able to adopt new technologies and concepts
· Impeccable
estimation skills
· Familiar with
SCRUM and Kanban frameworks.
· Willing to
manage multiple teams himself in the beginning and grow the team later.
· PMP or similar
certificate is a plus
· Agile
certification is a plus
· Experience with
Jira is a plus
Main Duties:
· Ensure
alignment between product owners, technical leads and the SCRUM teams.
· Hold and run
the daily standup meetings, sprint planning and retrospective meetings.
· Assign stories
to individuals and follow up on their completion.
· Coordinate the
plan for builds, their testing and their eventual commits.
· Remove impediments hindering the team.
· Own and
preserve the SCRUM KPIs including the velocity, points entered, WIP, etc.
· Supervise
product regression prior to production releases and report on their status.
· Ensure accuracy
of data in the used tools and own any necessary documentation for the squad and
sprints including release notes.
· Contribute to
the design of the software development process
· Evaluate and
manage individual performance of team members.
· Identify risks
and their respective mitigations regarding sprints.
